Talk Therapy
- Depression?
- Anxiety?
- Panic?
- Considering marriage or couples counseling?
- Having difficulty functioning at work or making simple decisions?
|
|
|
These are just a few of the symptoms of emotional
distress that can be alleviated effectively with psychotherapy.
More important, psychotherapy can uncover and resolve the
underlying causes of symptoms like these, freeing patients
to achieve his or her goals of self-confidence, richer emotional
experiences, greater intimacy or more fulfilling relationships.
In short, therapy can help us get what we want.
How does psychotherapy work? I often think
of psychotherapy as "talk therapy" because its healing
power is based in candid dialogue between a patient
and an experienced, professional therapist. Through this dialogue
we can gain a clearer understanding of who we are and
how we are in the world...insight we can use to attain
our goals.
